I have spent my entire adult life in a career of service, helping people in difficult life situations. As a licensed psychologist, I`ve worked with thousands of individuals over the years. Chenille blankets are made from rayon, cotton, acrylic and a number of other materials. Chenille refers to the way the fabric is woven. Small lengths of filament are bound into two or more pieces of strong yarn. The short pieces give the chenille a soft and luxurious pile. It is recommended that you have this blanket professionally cleaned. If hand or machine washed and want to machine dry, use low heat or lay flat to prevent stretching because it is a heavy material.
